Newsletter No 38 - 7 December 2016 07 Dec 2016

THE FINAL DAYS

With only 5½ days left we have the expectation of all students making sensible choices about their behaviour.  It is an exciting time when school finishes for the year, especially for the year 8 students who are moving onto College.  We all want the school year to finish on a ‘high’!

ASSEMBLY TOMORROW THURSDAY 8TH DECEMBER AT 11AM

The end of year assembly will take place tomorrow at 11am.  All parents/caregivers are invited to attend.

Cups, trophies and award certificates will be presented alongside the Big End of Year Lucky Draws. This is a time to celebrate the deserving winners and for the year 8s their final assembly at AIS.   We envisage the assembly will finish about 12.15pm.  In next week’s newsletter we will publish a photo of the cups and trophy winners plus a list of end of term and end of year class awards.  ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN FULL, CORRECT UNIFORM.

CULTURAL FEAST – THURSDAY 8TH DECEMBER AT 12.45PM

Students will   go back to class after the assembly and staff will set up the hall for the cultural feast that will begin at 12.45pm approximately.  Parents/caregivers attending assembly are welcome to stay at school until the 12.45pm feast begins.  A letter has been sent home outlining the event.  We would appreciate it if students could bring food that identifies with their culture please.  Please name all containers, plates etc so they can be returned to you. Food will go to the food room prior to assembly.

REPORTS – FRIDAY 9TH DECEMBER

School reports will be sent home on Friday 9th December.  These have been discussed with your child and we would like all parents/caregivers to go over the report with their child.  (There is a class report and a technology report.)

YEAR 7 INTERVIEWS THURSDAY 13TH DECEMBER

All interview preference times should have been received by all our year 7s teachers.  The interviews run for 15 minutes from 3.00pm – 6.00pm. Please, it is important you take this opportunity.

END OF 2016 YEAR – THURSDAY 15TH DECEMBER

School finishes at 12.15pm.  All students are to leave the school whether being picked up, walking or taking the bus.  The expectation is straight home with bags etc.
