END OF YEAR ASSEMBLY/2016 AWARDS
Thank you to parents/caregivers/families who came to celebrate the 2016 year with our staff and students. It was a great to see so many families supporting their child and the school. The winners of end of term four awards and end of year awards are attached to this newsletter also a photo of the recipients of this year’s cups and trophies and a list of their names. We congratulate all these students; their achievement and behaviour have displayed their great work attitudes, being positive role models and personal achievement – all attributes we encourage around our AVALON acrostic guidelines. These were presented in our final assembly held last Thursday. We are proud of you, be proud of yourselves - you all deserve this recognition.
Also thank you to those parents/caregivers who bought food for our Cultural Feast last Thursday. It was great to see so many students/families/staff enjoying the lunch together.

FAREWELL TO STAFF & STUDENTS
We are saying goodbye to Daphne Clark who has been an integral part of AIS life for a long time and has contributed a great deal as a reading tutor. Many students have passed through and benefitted from reading sessions with Daphne. She has multi tasked in many positions -in our staffroom, top florist and baker! We wish her all the best in her retirement.
We also say goodbye to Judith Miller and Jenny Hudson who have been our ORS specialist teachers over the past years. . You have both worked tirelessly to engage students to achieve whilst giving them all a wider experience of the world. You have both worked in conjunction with the students’ teacher aides to create a safe and exciting programme for them.
We have had another fantastic year of teaching at AIS; I would like to thank all our hardworking staff for the extra efforts they have put in alongside students.
We appreciate the help some families have offered in the form of transport, coaching of sport, going on camps and school trips. Thank you; we could not have managed without this extra assistance.
THANK YOU TO OUR FAMILIES
