3 WAY CONFERENCES LAST NIGHT
It was very positive to see parents/caregivers with their child last night for our goal setting interviews. We see these interviews as a most important connection between home and school and it has proved beneficial to students for their parents/caregivers to meet their teacher and discuss their learning. We know some of you could not make last night but teachers will be in contact with you to reschedule a suitable time.
All permission forms must be been received by tomorrow. We need the numbers of students attending to organise our food needs and activities. A reminder that the camp is being subsidized by the BOT and the cost is $30. All students must have camp paid for by the 31st March at the latest to attend. We would appreciate earlier payment to help our financial planning for the camps. All families who pay by AP and have sent their child’s permission form to school have had the $30 automatically deducted from their bank account. Please remember the parent/caregiver meeting for both Apirana and Hillary Camps camp to be held next Wednesday 29th at 6.30pm in the hall.
A reminder POOR CHOICES AROUND BEHAVIOUR will exclude students from being invited.
REMINDER – SCHOOL PHOTOS NEXT MONDAY
We naturally have the expectation next Monday all our students will be in clean, correct uniform for our school photos. Envelopes/order forms have been sent home, they must be returned by tomorrow. A reminder – the envelopes go straight to L C Scott.
COL’S (COMMUNITY OF LEARNING)
As you are aware the Taita/Stokes Valley CoL and the Naenae CoL are working side by side as Communities of Learning. There are 18 schools in both CoL’s. Dave Appleyard from Rata Street is the appointed leader for the Naenae CoL and Ian Hastie from AIS has been appointed leader of the Taita/Stokes Valley CoL. Dave and Ian will be working closely together with all CoL schools as achievement challenges and structures are set up over the next two years. We envisage it will be business as usual at AIS.

MAGIC CARDS
We are currently sorting who actually has a Magic Card and who needs to apply for one. If teachers could sight each student’s card we would be able to act on those who require one. Could all students who have one bring it in so that you can be marked off the list. Thank you.
AVALON PARK EXPO – PLEASE GO ALONG AND SEE WHAT THEY OFFER – this is a good family day (wet weather will see it transferred to Walter Nash).
