STATEMENTS OF PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITS

Statements will be sent out shortly including the Wainuiomata Pool Day on 30th November.  You will have received a bright yellow notice with a permission form to be returned to school.    The cost has been subsidized by the BOT to  $5 per child.

The statement will show you the 2017 year of payments and receipts made.  If you like help ring Leanne on 5677453 so she can go through it with you.

All technology payments of $80 for the year should have been paid by now.

There are still a lot of families who have not paid the $5 science roadshow entry for their child.  We would appreciate your taking the time to go through the statements and making payments where necessary.  Thank you to those who make their school payments by setting up an Automatic Payment.  It is a system which works well between home and school.

SUNHATS

All students must wear their school sunhat when outside during terms 1 & 4.   We still have students without a hat.  Please make sure they are clearly named as quite a few end up in lost property.  We want this to happen for all students and at intermediate age it should just happen as students are aware of what harm the sun can do.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITION

“Kotahitanga” will also be performing at the Battle of the Bands competition on Tuesday 31st October at the Little Theatre, Library Building, 2 Queens Drive, Lower Hutt from 9am to 4.30pm.  Good luck “Kotahitanga” members – do your best and make Avalon Intermediate School proud.

MUSIC AND DANCE FESTIVAL AT BRANDON INTERMEDIATE

Our school band “Kotahitanga” will be performing tomorrow at this Festival.  It will be a fun day of music and dance for our band.

YOGA

This is continuing in term 4 for rooms 1 & 7;  students are enjoying the sessions and we feel that they are helpful to learning.

SPORT

Cricket: this started with the Taita Cricket Club coaches yesterday.  It looked very well organised and the students enjoyed the sessions.  It would be great if we could get a number of students along to the Club joining up for Saturday morning cricket.

Badminton:  This will begin on the 6th November for all students.

Interschool Touch Rugby at Hutt Park yesterdayWell done our touch team who came a well earned third in the tournament.  You represented our school very well and it was an excellent day in the sun.
