PARENT-TEACHER-STUDENT MEETINGS

Goal setting evening will be held on Tuesday 26th June and Thursday 28th June from 2:30pm until 8:00pm. 15-minute meeting times are available with teachers and bookings will be able to made online and via the office. More information will be shared closer to this date.

 

GOLD CARD DRAW

Well done to Mathest Tusa for winning the Gold Card draw this week. Mathest was given the gold card for his leadership skills in class. He is the proud owner of a new basketball!

 

SPORT

Netball Students playing netball for AIS were given a letter yesterday that outlines the draw for the rest of Term 2. Please read this with your child and remind them to be organised each week at games and trainings.  This week’s draw for Saturday 26th May is:

AIS 1 - 2pm court 7

AIS 2 -  11am  court 5

 AIS 3 -  9am court 6

 

Waterpolo: The team had a strong win to open their account for the season.  A win over Our Lady of the Rosary by 14-1.  A great game by all!

Basketball: The results for Wednesday evening games are as follows;

The Chieftans (Year 8 Boys) won against Fergusson 42-27

The Pendants (Year 8 Girls) lost against Hutt Intermediate 21-30

The Servals (Year 7 Boys) lost against Hutt Intermediate 20-26, however they did a really good job to come back from 0-21 at half time - a great effort.

The Pharaohs (Year 7 Girls) lost to Te AraWhanui 42-6

Thank you to our coaches and managers for helping with basketball this term.

 

QUEEN’S HOLIDAY LONG WEEKEND

On Monday 4th June we have a holiday to commemorate the Queen’s Birthday.  (School will be closed).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

OPEN DAYS / EVENINGS FOR 2019 ENROLMENTS

*AIS open evening for 2019 Year 7 students will be held on Tuesday 19th June 6:30pm in the school hall

*Taita College open day for Year 8 students Wednesday 20th June

*Naenae College open evening for 2019 Year 9 students will be held on Wednesday 13 June 6:00-8:30pm in the college hall. An open Day for year 8 students will be held on Thursday 14th June 9:00am

*Sacred Heart College open Mornings for Year 8 girls are on Wedensday 30th May and also Wednesday 6th June 9:00am – 12:00 noon

*St Bernards College open day is this Saturday 26th May 10:00am – 2:00pm

 

KAPA HAKA PERFORMANCE

On Wednesday 30th May we are taking our Kapa Haka group to perform at the Shona McFarlane Retirement Village. We are looking forward to the opportunity to share our learning and perform for this part of our community.

 

POLYFEST 2018

We will be participating in the Polyfest at the end of this term, which will be held at the Walter Nash Stadium. Miss Poasa and Jonas Malamanche will be working with students from Kapa Haka and our Poly Club. We have asked students who are not in these groups to let us know if they would also like to participate in this event. You are welcome to contact Ariana Te Whetu or Julia Poasa if you have any questions. Tickets will be available to purchase from the school office from Week 6. More information about this will come out next week.

 

HOTUROA BARCLAY-KERR PRESENTS TO RANGATIRA

Hoturoa Barclay-Kerr was a guest speaker invited to talk to the Rangatira today. He is a well-known speaker and the NZEI organized for him to come to speak to the community about engaging Maori learners. Thank you Hoturoa for taking the time to visit our school and speak to our students. Nga mihi nui ki a koe.
