PERFORMANCE AT TE PAPA
On Thursday last week a group of 14 students performed at Te Papa for the Australasian Tuberculosis Conference. We had a mixture of kapa haka and polynesian dancing – they all did very well on the night. A special thank you to Matua Jonas and Matua Jeremy for their help and for supporting us on the night. The school were given a koha from Regional Public Health to go towards kapa haka uniforms. Thank you Twiggy Johnston for this opportunity.

FACEBOOK PAGE – AVALON INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
As part of connecting with our families and community we have been developing our school Facebook page. Reminders about what is happening at school will be posted, newsletters and photos of what we are doing will be shared through our Facebook page. When your child enrolled with us we asked for permission to share images of students and/or work samples on the school Facebook page and we have a list of students that do not have permission. A letter will be sent home to those students, checking that this is still correct. If you do not want your child’s image to be shared on our school Facebook page and you are not sure about whether your child has permission, please contact the office and let us know.
