SCHOOL/PARENT/CAEGIVER PARTNERSHIP
Thank you all the parents/caregivers who have attended our numerous meetings this term which have been held to support student learning. You will all be aware by now that we have made it clear that a good partnership between home and school is vital for us to raise achievement. Parents/caregivers who make the effort to have conversations with teachers understand better what we are trying to achieve and it leads to improved student performance. There will be more meetings in term 2, individual classroom meetings will take place between 11th – 22nd May and parent/teacher interview held in the last weeks of term 2.
SCHOOL CAMPS – NOVEMBER 2015
These will take place at Holdsworth Lodge, Masterton in November. We have managed to secure the lodge and camping area which is great. It will also keep costs down which will really help families. We will inform you later about fundraising opportunities for all students. We are hopeful of keeping the cost to around $100.
HEAD LICE
Please note we have had a couple of incidents recently of students having head lice. We ask all families to check their child/children’s hair for the lice and their eggs. They spread mostly by direct head-to-head contact. Headlice may be treated with shampoos specifically labelled for headlice available from chemists but the little white eggs will have to be combed out with a fine-toothed nit comb.
