IMPORTANT REMINDER!!!

SCHOOL CLOSED TOMORROW

AVALON INTERMEDIATE WILL BE CLOSED FOR STUDENTS ON FRIDAY 8TH APRIL.  All teaching staff will be attending a Maths Professional Development course alongside teachers from other schools to be held at our school.

 

BOT ELECTIONS

The election date for Board of Trustees for Avalon Intermediate will take place on Friday 3rd June. Our returning office is Leanne Thompson.  If you are interested in standing for the election please visit www.trustee-election.co.nz

 

END OF TERM ASSEMBLY AND END OF SCHOOL YEAR

Our end of term 1 assembly will be held on Wednesday 13th April at 11.10am in our school hall.  All families are welcome to join in the celebration of the first term, the award winner’s presentations and the gold card prizes.   

The school closes for the holidays on Friday 15th April at the normal time of 2.50pm.  Term 2 begins on Monday 2nd May at 8.45am.

 

GOAL SETTING 3 WAY CONFERENCES Parent/Teacher/Student

It was great to see the families who attended this interview last week.  If you weren’t able to make it please ring your child’s teacher and arrange a suitable time.  We can’t stress enough the importance of these home/school meetings.

 

TECHNOLOGY FEES

Have you paid your child’s technology fee of $20 per term or $80 per year?  If not please can you sort this out before the end of this term.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Please! Check the naming of your child’s school uniform and refresh it if it is unclear.  There are still a lot of uniforms without names especially the sweatshirts.  We have trackpants @ $36 each for sale at the school office.

 

PRINCIPAL AWARD AND GOLD CARD DRAW

At last week’s assembly Wiramu Howie R2  won the gold card for N – Never Give Up.   At this week’s assembly Keiva Ralph Room 5  won my Principal’s award and Chaquita King-Fuimaono R2 won the gold card draw for the  ‘O’ - Our Place.  Congratulations to these three students they are making good choices at AIS!

SPORT

AIS Cross Country at Fraser Park on Wednesday 14th April straight after lunch.  Runners leave from the Avalon Rugby Club carpark and run around Fraser Park.

Inter-School Football – boys and girls.  Both our school football teams will represent AIS at the inter-school tournament at Wakefield Park on Monday & Tuesday next week.

 

NAILPOLISH

Can we remind students that nail polish is not to be worn at school.  If you are wearing it for a special occasion make sure it is removed before school please.
