 NEWSLETTER  NO. 16  -  9/6/16

 

 SHORTENED LUNCH HOURS MONDAY 18TH JUNE

We will start our ‘winter shortened lunch break’ from Monday 18th June.  This will mean lunch finishes 10 minutes early and school finishes at 2.40pm.  This gives us more time to complete study centre and sports practices so that students get home well before dark. Study centre will still finish at 4.20pm 

 

CLASSROOM MEETINGS

Thank you to all the parents/caregivers who made last night’s parent/caregiver meeting.  We hopefully will get another good turn out tonight for rooms 4, 6, 8 & 9.

MAORI PARENT/CAREGIVER MEETING TUESDAY NIGHT

Thank you to all the parents who made the meeting on Tuesday night.  Your conversation and input was greatly appreciated. We look forward to the next meeting later in June at Walter Nash.

 

SCHOOL REPORTS

School reports will be sent home on Friday 17th June.  Please ensure you discuss your child’s report so you are well informed prior to parent interviews on the 22nd and 23rd June.

 

SCHOOL INTERVIEWS

On Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23nd June we will be having parent/caregiver/teacher/students interviews.  The interviews will be 20 minutes long starting from 2.40pm to 8.20pm. Your notice has been sent home for your choice of interview times .  At the interview the school reports will be discussed with parents/caregivers. Our aim is ALL STUDENTS have an interview with teachers. 

There will be a Book Fair for families on the nights of 21st, 22nd and 23rd June in Room 1.  Please have a look when you are here for your interview.

 

AIS INFORMATION EVENING FOR YEAR 2017

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Our new parents/caregivers meeting for prospective 2017 students will take place on Tuesday 21st June @ 6.30pm.  If you know of any interested 2017 parents/caregivers please give them a ‘heads up’.

 

 

OPEN MORNING AT TAITA COLLEGE

All our year 8 students will get bussed to Taita College tomorrow for an orientation visit at the College.  Prospectuses  have been sent home today.

 

POLYFEST 2016 WALTER NASH CENTRE (TUESDAY 28TH JUNE)

This takes place the week of 27th June - 1st July with many performances each night and during the day.  AIS will be performing Tuesday 28th June between 6-00 – 8.00pm.  Doors open at 5.00pm.  We have 24 students involved.  Tickets are now available from our front office and the cost is $5.00 each.  Tickets are limited so please get in quick to purchase – it will be an outstanding week of student performances and well worth seeing. Tickets need to be purchased by Friday 17th June.

 

SPORT

Waterpolo Results : another strong performance after a shaky start for the team with a 20-2 win over St Bernards.  You are performing well AIS!!

Basketball Results: Yr 7 AIS Avs win over SBC Green 33-23,     AIS Saints  win over Wainui 40-20,    AIS Bolt vs Muritai 21-7,    AIS Simba win over NIS Magic 18-1

Netball Draw: Ferns vs Fergusson 1pm,  court 5, Magics vs Naenae 11am,  court 2, Pulse vs Maidstone 1pm, court 2, Diamonds vs St Orans 12noon,  court 2,  All Stars vs Hutt, court 2.

 

 LUCKY GOLD CARD DRAWS- CONGRATULATIONS

Last week Efeso Masoe R6 won the gold card draw for being   L – Leader

& Learner and this week  Keira Flitcroft room 2 for A – Attend.

 

CARWASH SATURDAY

There will be a carwash in the school carpark this Saturday to support 2 of our students Tayne & Tiana McKinnon to travel to the USA for Basketball later this year. Come along & get your car cleaned or pass the message to friends who may be going past.

COMMUNITY NOTICES
