TERM 4 STARTS ON MONDAY 10TH OCTOBER.
Students have 48 days of learning ahead of them and the expectation is that all students
will work hard, work positively and make the most of their learning time.

Avalon Intermediate promotes their ACROSTIC both for our student’s learning and their behaviour. Most of our students are on board with this but there is still a handful who are not working to their goals nor showing the behaviour which is expected from a young adult.
ROTARY CLUB VISIT LAST TUESDAY
Thanks to our leaders for doing a fantastic job with our Rotary visitors. They really enjoyed seeing our school site as well as interacting with our students through activities.

SCHOOL UNIFORM - REMINDER
ALL students need to wear the correct shoes with black or white socks, school shorts and school polo top with a school sweatshirt top – NO exceptions. Can all students please make the effort over the holidays to start term 4 with the correct uniform. Note: school hats are enforced for terms 1 & 4 so if it is not at school get your hat out of the drawer and check your name is clearly visible!
TECHNOLOGY FEES/OTHER FEES
We will be chasing up unpaid fees early in term 4. Technology fees are compulsory as are some sports fees. Can all families please check with the school and make sure that all fees are paid.
FAREWELL TO A STAFF MEMBER
We farewell Truida Otto a teacher aide who has been a teacher aide at Avalon Intermediate for nearly 5 years. She has brought many skills to her position; thank you for all your hard work Truida and our best wishes for your new job.
WELLINGTON VS TARANAKI – SUNDAY 9TH OCTOBER
The tickets have gone out to the students who wrote letters as to why they should get 4 tickets. Well done those students – enjoy the game with your family. The last remaining 10 went to names called out randomly.

SPORTS
Final Basketball Results: Yr 8 girls came 3rd, Yr 8 boys came 6th and Yr 7 boys came 3rd in the competition.
You showed good sportsmanship and good manners. WOW! Thank you Leanne Kepa for coaching the Yr 7 boys.
COMMUNITY NOTICES
Hutt Valley Dodgers Softball Club: Registration Saturday 24th September at 9.30 - 12 noon at Avalon Rugby Club for all students wanting to play softball.
Walter Nash Centre Holiday Programme: they are offering on the 26th basketball, 27th Ki O Rahi, 28th Fencing, 29th Cricket. Contact the Stadium for more details.
