SPORT

Athletics: 6 students competed in the 2016 Regional Athletics Programme accompanied by Tina Watson on Tuesday.  They behaved very well and were supportive and encouraging of each other being up against some amazingly talented athletes.  Results are:

Shotput: Year 8 girls: Te Hani Foaese had an awesome throw  giving her a 2nd

Year 7 boys:  Toelau Sui  also had an awesome throw giving him a 2nd

Vortex Year 8 boys: Fale Toelau-Faifua  won a fantastic 2nd

Killarney Howsan was a member of the winning year 7 girls relay

Liam Carroll  (Year 7 boys) threw  an amazing 1st in shotput

Warana Ormsby (Year 8 boys)  came 2nd in the shotput

Tiana McKinnon unfortunately couldn’t participate because of her broken thumb!

Congratulations to all participants – you did us PROUD.

Softball: On Wednesday at Fraser Park was cancelled due to poor weather.  Most unfortunate considering the amount of practice they have put in with Ti.

Volleyball: had its last day of games on Tuesday.  Highlights were a strong game against the year 10s from Chilton St James and a tight final game loss to St Bernadettes.

YEAR 8 END OF YEAR FUNCTION – MONDAY 12TH DECEMBER

A notice has been sent home to those year 8s invited to their end of year 2016.   Permission slips need to be returned with the $25 for all those attending.  Like previous years this will be a fantastic night.

COMMUNITY NOTICES - REMINDERS

Christmas in Da Hood : Saturday 3rd December 10am – 3pm @ Pomare School, 4 Partridge Street, Lower Hutt. FREE.   The event has been occurring annually for many years and is focused on bringing ‘unity’ in the community.  During the event there are free health checks from RHP, free foods (BBQ, fruit,) water, giveaway and entertainment.  At the end there is also a community tug of war for a bit of fun.

Stokes Valley Xmas Parade: Please note Saturday December 3rd in your diaries. AIS will again be performing in Scott Court at 11.30 with a group of students. Many of our parents/caregivers support this annual event.
