TERM 2
We welcome all students back for another very busy term. The term ends Friday July 6th, with Queen’s Birthday on Monday 4th June. Students have 49 days of learning ahead of them. We expect all students to maximise these learning days.
Winter Sports and Inter-school sports will also keep many students busy. Both basketball on Wednesday nights and netball on Saturdays will require students to be very organized both for practices and games. The expectation is that all students will be available to practice and play. These sports are in our catchment area (Taita Courts/Walter Nash). All AIS students need to represent the school very positively at all times.
Inter-school sport this term are, Cross Country, Boys and Girls Football, Hockey and Rugby League, a very full schedule!
SCHOOL UNIFORM
With the colder weather now on its way it is important that all studentscontinue to wear correct, clean school uniform with the correct low cut sneakers. AIS is all about setting high standards – it only takes 1 or 2 to make the standard drop. Remember all uniform must be clearly named please. Also do not wear coloured T-shirts under Polo Shirts – only black and white skivvies / thermals are acceptable under the T-shirts.
MAGIC CARD, THE WALTER NASH CENTRE AND TAITA CLUBHOUSE
A reminder that all AIS students should have magic cards for local libraries and pools. It is important that all students are using the Magic Card regularly. The Walter Nash Centre and Clubhouse are great resources for our students and I remind parents/caregivers again that we want students using these facilities regularly and appropriately to give our students extra opportunities to learn.
