SCHOOL REPORTS

School reports will be sent home on Friday 21st June.  Please ensure you discuss your child’s report so you are well informed prior to parent interviews on the 26th and 27th June.

SCHOOL INTERVIEWS

On Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th June we will be having parent/caregiver/teacher/student interviews.  The interviews will be 20 minutes long starting from 2.40pm to 8.00pm. At the interview the school reports will be discussed with parents/caregivers. Our aim is that ALL STUDENTS have an interview with teachers. Bookings can be made online and paper forms will also be sent home closer to the date.

There will be a Book Fair for families on these days.  Please have a look when you are here for your interview. The book fair will be in Room 3.

INFORMATION EVENING FOR YEAR 2020 PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

A reminder that on Tuesday 18th June we are holding an Open Night for those families who are interested in enrolling their child for the 2020 year.  It begins in our school hall at 6.30pm. Parents can also visit rooms. If you know of anyone who would be interested please pass on this information or ask them to ring the school at 5677 453.

HUTTFEST 2019 WALTER NASH CENTRE (Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th July)

Huttfest takes place on the week of 1st – 5th July with different groups performing each night and during the day.  AIS Polygroup will be performing on Wednesday 4th July and Kapahaka on Thursday 5th July. We are taking a group of students on each night. Tickets are now available from our front office and the cost is $5.00 each. Tickets are limited, so please purchase these quickly – it is well worth seeing!

OPEN MORNING AT TAITA COLLEGE

All our year 8 students will get bussed to Taita College on the 12th June for an orientation visit at the College.  Students will receive the prospectus prior to this visit. Taita College’s Open Evening is on Wednesday 12th June. Karen Morgan, the Taita College Principal, will also talk to all Year 8’s on Monday 10th at AIS.

PRINCIPALS AWARD AND GOLDCARD DRAW

Congratulations to Quentin Howsan Room 7 for winning today’s gold card draw for Never Giving up and Aspiring. Enjoy the netball. Quentin was also presented with the Principals award for his 5th Place in Tuesday’s Cross Country Race.

INTERSCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY

Twenty-eight students represented AIS last Tuesday at Harcourt Park for the Inter-school Cross Country.    It was a tough 3km course of hills and mud, with over 100 runners in each race.  Our top results were: Quentin Howsan 5th place, Nic Kiri 14th, Leonidas Martin 38th, Alazae Reremoana 39th, Muhmina Aminudeen 46th, and Sanomiya Sathasivam 57th.  Well done to Quentin for making it into the Wellington Regional Race.  A big thank you to the parent helpers. 

BOYS AND GIRLS INTERSCHOOL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

This takes place next Wednesday (Boys) and Thursday (Girls) at the National Hockey Stadium in Wellington. Students will travel into Wellington by school van.

KIDSCAN FUN RUN

Our AIS KidsCan 3km Fun Run is just over a week away and we want to thank you for your fundraising efforts so far! Run Date: Friday 14 June Time: 1.30pm. Course Starts: Opposite Fraser Park Carpark (Harcourt Werry Drive Side) Running along Te Awa Kairangi to the 1.5km turnaround point and back. Parents & Caregivers are invited and welcome to join us for the run or to help on the day!

GOODTIME  MUSIC

Reminder to those students enrolled in the Foundation Programme that they are picked up at 3:15pm every Friday afternoon. Thank you to all students last week they had a great time.
